During my recent trip, I stayed at The Fives Downtown and can attest to the ease of the location if you’re interested in exploring the city of Playa del Carmen, or if you’re using the hotel as a jumping off point for exploring deeper in to the area.

Last but not least is The Fives Oceanfront, a new idyllic beachfront resort in Riviera Maya. This luxurious boutique resort offers a stunning oceanfront location, personalized service, and a variety of activities to keep you entertained. Ideal for families, couples, and solo travelers alike, The Fives Oceanfront boasts spacious and comfortable suites with a boho chic flare. Though this resort is family friendly, it doesn’t have any child specific amenities so I would likely only recommend it for families with older kids who can entertain themselves.

Each of the resorts has a unique location and is ideal for certain types of travelers. One thing they share in common is their connection with Bob Marley. One of Marley’s family members is partnered with The Fives and so each location has a Marley Coffee shop. Both Fives Beach, and Fives Oceanfront have Rastafarian compliant restaurants (which means they stick to very strict standards of freshness). And the Fives Oceanfront in particular has a really cool, chic boho vibe.
